Our Grandson Gavin

The following is from Gavin's Grandma Christman. Grandma and Pop were close with Gav and remain close with Conor. It's a blessing to have them in our lives.

I have procrastinated long enough on writing in Gavin's journal, plus being computer illiterate doesn't help either. Gavin would have been very upset with me and would have told me just go here and push this button and do this and there you have it, or Gavin would have done it for me with a smile on his face and "oh Grandma" on his mind!! So, with the help of our son Dan here comes my thoughts.

Gavin was our youngest of 6 grandchildren and what a joy he was! Funny, caring, loving, smart and had a writing talent to be envied by Hallmark.

All of you Grandmas and Moms reading this I bet collect or are collecting cards, notes and letters your kids and grandkids have sent you. Cute little notes that are mis-spelled, crooked and hard to read but that didn't matter, it was the thought that counted. Now as I dig those treasures out and reread them, my heart breaks and swells with love for him, knowing in his own words how he felt and loved us, Grandma and Pop.

So keep and treasure all those little reminders of days gone by, reread them with great memories and smiles of the happy times you received them for and the joy those cards will bring you in sad times too.

If there is one thing our family has learned through this tragedy, it is never think there will be another day or time to hug and tell your husband, kids, grandkids or important people in your life how much you love them and what they mean to you because you never know if and when you will get another chance.
